Gate Windows Are Not “Anytime Before Cut-Off”

Terminals and depots run appointment or congestion windows. Arriving with a full box at the wrong hour means queues, rejected gate-ins, or a truck that burns free time while your SI clock still ticks.

Plan for:

• Empty pickup slot
• Stuffing / seal time at factory or CFS
• Road transit with monsoon and peak-hour buffers
• Gate appointment or accepted receiving window
• Document cut-off (SI / VGM) that may close before physical gate-in ends

Night Haulage From Punjab

Faisalabad, Lahore, and Sialkot exporters often move boxes overnight to hit morning gate windows. That only works when:

• Empty was confirmed the day before — not “arranged”
• Driver and vehicle papers match terminal requirements
• Seal, VGM method, and booking number are on the truck paperwork
• Someone at the factory can release the box after hours

A verbal “truck left at 10pm” without tracking or depot confirmation is not a plan.

Common Failure Patterns We See

• Booking confirmed, empty never picked up inland
• Truck arrives after receiving closed; vessel still “open” on paper
• VGM / SI late even though the box is inside
• Wrong depot or CFS address on the booking slip

1. Confirm empty availability and pickup depot 2. Confirm gate / CFS receiving hours for that terminal and day 3. Back-calculate depart-mill time with a real buffer 4. Lock SI and VGM owners by name, not by WhatsApp group
